Dream.Org Brings “Power in the Problem” Tour to Clark Atlanta and Howard University Following Kickoff at NC A&T

October 21, 2025

Dream.Org’s Power in the Problem HBCU Homecoming Tour, empowers students and communities to build a more just and sustainable future.

Atlanta, GA. – Dream.Org in partnership with Climate Power and Black Voters Matter Fund, the Power in the Problem tour is visiting Historically Black Colleges & Universities to celebrate Black brilliance, bring green career opportunities to students, and build youth civic power.

The tour launched on October 8 at North Carolina A&T State University, drawing students for a day of dialogue, green career exploration, and civic engagement. Now, the campaign continues with stops at:

At each stop, students can expect a green job and internship fair featuring clean energy and tech employers, a panel discussion with student leaders, alumni and local leaders, and civic action stations where students can pledge to vote, make a plan, and explore how environmental policy connects to everyday life.

“For too long, Black communities have been seen only through the lens of crisis — pollution, poverty, incarceration, and disinvestment,” said Jasmine Davenport, Senior Director of Green For All at Dream.Org. “Power in the Problem flips that narrative. We’re celebrating these communities as centers of innovation, resilience, and leadership by investing in the people best equipped to build just and sustainable futures.”

Davenport added, “HBCUs are hubs of innovation, creativity, and community. Growing up, I remember the magic of Grambling State University homecomings — the food, the music, the joy of generations coming together. That spirit is what we’ve brought to this tour. Watching students light up as they connect with employers, explore career pathways, and see themselves in a thriving future? That’s the magic. And we’re just getting started."

The tour is made possible through sponsorships from Climate Power, a Catalyst Supporter for the Atlanta event helping students learn about the importance of public service commission elections. Black Voters Matter Fund will join as a civic engagement partner to help students make their plan to vote. All events are free, with lunch available on a first-come, first-served basis and shuttle transportation from Robert W. Woodruff Library provided for the Clark Atlanta event.
