Climbing is the sport in which the person going up, whether it is on a hill, mountain, or artificial wall. In other words, Rock Climbing involves climbing on steep rocks and cliffs. It comes in many different types, styles, and variations. Mountaineers always have a particular kind of drive to try more challenging climbs and terrains. Different Climbing Styles depends on the basis of the terrain, with or without the use of ropes and other gear, indoor or outdoor, etc. Each style offers a different kind of challenge and adrenaline rush to a climber. In recent days, rock climbing can be done in outdoors as well as in indoors. The indoor environment is highly controlled, nearly all risk has been eliminated, and climbers can be taught all they need to know about the safety systems in a few minutes. This is very useful for beginners in rock climbing. The indoor climbing wall is a safe and fun way to try rock climbing for the first time, or even to improve your skills. But the outdoor environment is virtually uncontrolled, all risks are possible, and a climber can spend a lifetime learning the safety systems and still not know it all. Outdoor climbing requires the climber to set up anchor systems at the top of the climb and outdoor climbing has a connection to the natural environment that indoor climbing just can't match. Rock Climbing comes in different styles and variations. Two common styles are Traditional Rock Climbing and Sport Climbing. But there are other types that climbers can do. Traditional or Trad Climbing involves taking rock climbs in routes which do not have permanent anchors to help climbers when ascending. Sport Climbing involves the use of protection or permanent anchors which are attached to the rock walls. In Bouldering Climbing, you don’t need to leave more than twelve feet off the ground. Solo Climbing is the difficult and most dangerous type of Climbing. In this, the climbing is alone, without a partner and rope or protection. Deep water soloing is climbing a rock and fall on deep water and this style sets it apart from the other styles. Mountaineering is the challenging activity involves hiking or trekking in higher altitudes. It requires varying skills in climbing and outdoor survival. Ice climbing style involves cold and ice which climbers should deal with. With indoor rock climbing, you can train all year round and improve your climbing skills and techniques. For beginners, this activity will give you an idea of what the actual Rock Climbing is. Scrambling basically uses hands and feet, of course, when going up ridges, rock faces, or buttresses. Its main feature is the freedom it offers from the use of the different pieces of climbing equipment. Rock climbing as an outdoor sport could be really dangerous; safety and protection were greatly considered. Specific techniques and gear were developed as the routes became harder and more challenging to climbers.
