Most forex affiliates realize that social media can be a powerful marketing tools for generating leads and boosting commissions. How one goes about it is another thing. Using social media seems like the easiest thing in the world, but while many people try to market their affiliated product through social media, the results are often disappointing precisely because they don’t put much thought into it. Simply posting a link on Facebook, or a video on YouTube, doesn’t guarantee any significant distribution, and so we thought we’d give our affiliates a few pointers on how to make social media work for you.

Facebook

Posting a link on your wall, or on your friends’ walls, means that even if you have lots of friends the amount of people that get to see the link is relatively limited, and most of them aren’t very interested in financial trading. Instead, search for pages anFacebookd groups that are relevant to financial trading, meaning that they are related to your product. The more fans or members the page/group has, the wider your reach. And once you find a relevant page, don’t simply post a link. Get involved in the conversation on the wall, and incorporate the link into the discussion.

YouTube

While eToro Partners provides forex affiliates with sleek and exciting videos that they can repost, it’s always good to make your own unique videos that give viewers something extra. This is not a difficult task, all you need is a webcam and some charisma. When making your video, don’t make the marketing aspect the main focus of the video. Instead try to provide viewers with useful information, such as trading advice, techniques, strategies, etc. This will make the viewers much more likely to share the video and widen your reach.

Twitter

With Twitter, it is key to amass a large following, and you won’t be able to do that by just tweeting affiliate links alone. Make your tweets interesting but relevant to forex, to give other Twitter users interested in forex a reason to follow you. Then, once in a while, post a link accompanied by your own personal view of why your followers should click on it.

Forums

Same as on Facebook, get involved in the forum discussions and recommend eToro as part of the conversation. Direct advertizing will cause you to be ignored by other forum users at best, and kicked out of the forum at worst. We hope that these tips will help make your affiliate activity on social networks more fruitful and worthwhile.
